Learning Objectives

  • Legislation for working on rooftops 
  • Understand the various risks at the site 
  • Hierarchy of risk controls such as conducting HIRA, PTW, Tool Box Talk 
  • Safety requirements when working with fixed and portable ladders 
  • Selection of anchor points and pre-use checks including vertical and horizontal safety systems and eyebolts 
  • PPE Inspection, its fitting, care and safe disposal 
  • Use of horizontal safety system -fixed and temporary 
  • Restraint techniques on a fragile rooftop 
  • Practical climbing of fixed ladders using twin fall arrest lanyards 
  • Practical Awareness of vertical safety systems 
  • Rescue procedure 

Pre-Requisites

  • Site - Hall/Classroom arrangements with projector and screen near practical site
  • Basic Literacy
  • Learner should > 18 years
  • Physically fit and able to participate in practical activities
  • Appropriate PPE- 5 point suspension Harness, Helmets, Safety Shoes, Gloves & Snug fitting clothes
  • Preferably having experience of WAH
  • Weight of Learner below 70Kg
