Description

This course is designed as per NFPA 1670 & NFPA 1006. It aims to provide skills required for height work, confined space entry & rescue using rope tactics in an industrial environment. This course focuses on developing capability as a team rescuer.

Learning Objectives

  • Demonstrate tying of knots, bends, hitches and placing edge protection 
  • Demonstrate Ascend/ Descend in 3 different scenarios 
  • Demonstrate equipment usage specially related to confined space-SCBA, Gas detector etc
  •  Construct anchor & rope systems 
  • Demonstrate different rope tactics
  • Apply mechanical advantage using pulley systems in different given scenarios
  • Assist a lowering operation in (low/high) angle environment
  • Be part of rescue team and assist in rescue scenarios.
  • Demonstrate different rescue scenarios related to confined space
  • Demonstrate the operation of highline and belay system
  • Demonstrate Victim management involving equipment
  • Demonstrate CPR techniques 

Equipments Required at Client's Site

  • Kernmantle ropes(10.50mm) -30m x 8 lengths, 50mm x 4 lengths
  • Resuscitator, Oxygen Cylinder, Gas detector, First-aid Box, Stretcher
  • Communication Devices
  • Breathing Apparatus, Lifeline, and Head Lamp/Torch
  • Tripod/Quadpod
  • Other rope access equipment as per training requirement 

Pre-Requisites

  • Site-Hall/Classroom arrangements with Projector and screen near practical site
  • Safe Site availability for practical training
  • Learners should be above 18 years and physically fit and able to participate in practical activities
  • Appropriate PPE- 5 point suspension Harness, Helmets, Safety Shoes, Gloves & Snug fitting clothes
  • Prior experience of working in height & confined space & rescue is preferable
